HomeField Directory is made by Whitened Fields Ministries, a small ministry-run software shop in North Carolina.

We started because the churches we belong to kept solving the same problem the same expensive way. Every couple of years someone would volunteer to produce a printed directory, spend a season chasing photos and phone numbers, and hand out a booklet that was wrong within a month. The church management systems that promised to fix it were built for churches ten times our size, priced by the head, and buried the directory under a dozen modules nobody had asked for.

So we built the thing we actually wanted. A directory that families can open on a phone. That members keep current themselves. That treats children's information with the care it deserves. That costs less than one print run and never goes out of date.

Whitened Fields is a ministry first. The software pays for itself and supports the work, and we are content for it to stay small and do a few things properly. When you write to support, you are writing to the people who built it.

The name comes from John 4:35. The fields are white for harvest, and the people in them ought to know one another.

What we hold to

A few things we will not compromise on.

Your data is yours

We host it, we do not own it. It is never sold, never used for advertising, never fed to an AI model. You can take all of it with you at any time.

Children come first

No accounts for kids, no required email, birthdays hidden by default, and a human admin in the loop when they become adults.

Fair, flat pricing

One price for every church, no per-member fees, refunds for unused months, and a full export if you ever decide to leave.

Small on purpose

A directory, done well. We say no to features that would make HomeField a worse directory in exchange for a longer feature list.

Straight answers

Our privacy policy and terms are written to be read. If something is a draft or a limitation, we say so on the page.

Ministry, not a startup

We are not chasing growth or an exit. We want the churches that use HomeField to still be using it, happily, in ten years.
