Everything a directory should do, and nothing it shouldn't.
HomeField stays deliberately small. Here is the whole list, in the order most churches ask about it.
Find anyone in two keystrokes.
Browse by family or by person, jump by letter, or type part of a name. Search matches first names, last names, preferred names and family names, so "Bec" finds Rebecca whether she goes by Bec or not.
Households, the way your church already thinks.
Every person belongs to a family. The family carries the shared things: address, home phone, anniversary, a family photo. Each person carries their own: mobile, email, birthday, allergies. One head of household keeps the family details current.
Members fix their own details. Admins approve the ones that matter.
A changed phone number or a new photo publishes the moment a member saves it. Names, addresses and family names go to the admin approval queue first, with a clear before and after. Churches that want more control can require approval for every edit.
Every member decides what the rest of the church sees.
Hide a birthday, a phone number, an email, allergies or a photo from other members with one switch. A head of household can hide the family address, home phone, anniversary and family photo the same way. Names are always visible, and admins always see everything, so the directory stays useful for the people who run it.
Kid-safe by default, not by configuration.
Children appear in their family with whatever their parents or an admin chose to enter. They never get a sign-in account, an email field is never required, and their birthdays are hidden from other members unless the church turns that on. Each morning, anyone who has turned 18 is placed in an admin queue. One click makes them an adult and sends an invitation if they have an email.
Faces, not just names.
Each person and each family can have a photo. Members upload their own from a phone, admins can upload for anyone, and images are resized on the way in so nobody has to think about file sizes. Where there is no photo, initials stand in.
Track the few extra things your church cares about.
Add fields to people or families: membership date, small group, baptism date, whatever matters to you. Choose whether members can edit a field themselves and whether other members can see it. Tags are quicker still, a coloured label you can filter the whole directory by.
Never miss a card again.
A month view of every birthday and wedding anniversary in the congregation, with photos and how many years. Members see what they are allowed to see. Admins see everyone and can print or export the month for the card ministry.
Your data, in a format you can open anywhere.
Download the whole directory as a spreadsheet or a printable PDF whenever you like. Admins get every field. Members get the version they are allowed to see. Nothing is locked in.
On the home screen, without the app store.
The member directory is a progressive web app. Members open it in their browser once, tap "Add to Home Screen", and from then on it launches like any other app with your church's icon. No app store accounts, no updates to install, and it works the same on iPhone and Android.
Your logo, your colour, your church's name on the door.
Upload a logo and pick an accent colour. Members see your church, not ours, in the app, on the home screen icon and in the emails HomeField sends on your behalf.
Email and password, or Google.
Members sign in with the email address your church has on file, either with a password they set from their invitation or with a Google account that uses the same address. Sessions can stay signed in for 30 days on a personal phone. One email address belongs to one church directory.
Everything an admin needs, on one quiet dashboard.
Pending approvals, adult transitions, invitations that have not been accepted, and release requests from other churches, all on the first screen. Every change anyone makes is written to an audit log you can read.
See it with your own families in it.
